Thank God for Little Boys

I've heard that March is the month of madness, but I must say in our house, May seems to bring the madness. Today I enjoyed lunch and a Wal-Mart trip with my friend Karen as I prepared for the insanity that is to become our lives for the next week. Tonight we had tball pictures at 6:00 and a concert at the church at 7:00. Tommorrow night is a tball game and Saturday is Eli's birthday party. (Yes, we are just now having it. Don't worry, regardless of the outcome I plan to have pictures of the cake.:) Sunday is homecoming at the Methodist church so I will be cooking for the lunch there and then Sunday night we start our revival and we will be hosting our evangelist and his family in our home Sunday night. So....I'm going to be spending a lot of time cleaning and cooking the next few days!! Then we will have revival every night next week. I'm really looking forward to it as one of Josh's friends from school is preaching it. I got to hear him when I went to school with Josh and I'm anxious to hear him again. I guess I tell you all of that to say...please pray for me! I may be running in circles for a few days!

I also wanted to tell you about tball pictures. I am telling you, those kids just crack me up. By the time I got home from the store and served supper we were running a little late. (Imagine that. :) We all ran around like crazy getting ready. I had laid Eli's uniform out earlier so it would be ready to go. He got dressed while I pinned Kate down and got her dressed. We realized we couldn't find Eli's hat so I grabbed an extra adult hat we have. Then halfway there I looked back at him and realized there was something all over the front of his shirt. I was so confused. I hadn't remembered washing it, but after 80 loads you start to forget what all you have washed. It had been folded up in his drawer. Then it hit me. He had put his dirty uniform in his drawer! You really have to be careful when you tell your kids to clean up their rooms! So...on picture night my child had on a dirty uniform and a hat that was too big! Not too long after we got there another mom showed up lamenting the fact that she had thought red snow cones would be a good idea on the way. Her little boy was covered in red. I was sharing our story and the assistant coach laughed and said they didn't have time to dry their son's uniform so he was wearing a wet uniform and he had also misplaced his hat and was wearing an adult one! Somebody said, "They're boys, they aren't supposed to be clean." I gotta say those little fellas were pretty cute no matter what. Dirty uniforms, big hats, snowcones and all!

Thank God for little boys!!!

Watch Out!! The Tigers Are in a Mood!!

This day just was not what I expected. Sarah had a dentist appointment and luckily (yes, so *lucky*) they were able to work me in too. When I was little I had sealants put on my teeth that were supposed to prevent cavities, but now we find out that actually you can still get cavities, but you don't know it until years later when the sealants wear off and the cavities are really bad. Yay! Long story short, I had to get 5 fillings and LUCKILY someone cancelled their appointment this afternoon so I am waiting to go back and get 6 more filled. Aren't you just jealous of my luck? So, instead of doing a load of laundry or something productive, I decided to blog and dribble my milkshake all over me and the computer. :)

I thought I would share some new pics from the latest t-ball game (also known as our only social outing of the week). The first game was on a Sat. morning, but from now on they will be on Friday nights at 6:00 or 7:00. I quickly discovered early morning was a better time for our little tigers. They sure were grumpy by 6:00 Friday night! There was a lot of crying, fit throwing and sitting down in the field going on. They must have felt the way I do today!! I looked at one point and two of our guys were off the field standing around eating some chips. Another one was in the bathroom. I have to say that t-ball is the most active sport I've ever played. Yes, I said I. I hope you can see in the pictures that it truly takes a village to get 3 and 4 year olds to play ball and you know when they ask me to coach 3rd base they are desperate! I literally had to run to 1st base and get some of the kids and run them around the bases! Speaking of first base, there is Eli at his new position on 1st. Either he doesn't want his picture taken, or he doesn't want to see how out of hand all of this has gotten!

Please don't ask what is going on in this first picture, I still don't know! But do you see the dad and the grandma consoling the outfielder? I love it! Nothing brings families together like fussy t-ball players! The little girl from the other team does not seem impressed at all with Eli's catcher pose. And yes, there is one of our players sitting in the outfield while the other team runs the bases!

I don't know if I've told you, but t-ball has become the greatest stress relief and laughter invoking time of the week for me. It's exhausting. But it's FUN!!!

We're BAAACCCKKK!!!!

Me and my little baseball player!

Are they cute or what?

Okay, so probably you didn't even notice I was gone. But Josh and I finally got our honeymoon this last week, almost 8 years and 3 kids later! It was FABULOUS! I am planning to write all about it in an epic mini-series of blogs. I have so much to say and so few people who will even care! :) But...I'm tired. Josh and I drove 12 hours Thursday from Pigeon Forge, TN to Panama City to get the kids. Then we drove 6 hours home Friday. We got home just in time to pick up t-ball uniforms and meet parents at a gas station in Louin to hand them out. That night we had to drive another hour (there and back) to find Eli cleats because we had had no luck up to that point. Luckily we got the last pair in his size!! As I was getting out of the bath tub later Sarah threw open the bathroom door and scared the mess out of me! She was projectile vomiting. At least she made it into the bathroom. This morning we were up bright and early to be at the ball field for Eli's first game. I will leave you with some pics from the game. Enjoy!

The lion wanted to go to the ballgame. :)

Play Ball!!!

Last Friday night was Eli's first T-ball practice. It was an exciting day as Eli has been waiting all 3 (almost 4) years of his life to play ball! Josh is coaching (because he is not busy enough working full-time, pastoring a church, and going to school) :) so Eli got to pick the team name. They are The Little Tigers. Their colors will be orange and blue. Yes, I too am shocked that Josh would CHOOSE orange and blue (Gator colors!!!) but he said that tiger teams are always blue and orange. He really loves Eli, huh? I had just started my anitbiotics and was a little worn out from my day of world travel and waxing (see My Day of Beauty) and I just didn't feel up to chasing Kate around the ballfield. But never fear! I got pics before and after! Here are the pics the grandparents have all been waiting for......

Sarah is such an awesome big sister. She immediately went into cheerleader mode and decided that Eli needed a sign to cheer him on! :)

Eli with his cheerleaders. I'm pretty sure he's the only one who showed up with his own (very cute!) cheering section!!!!!!!

This is what was happening back at the house. Yes, this is my child, buck nekded, (as Eli would say) on a table. I was not quick enough with a new pull-up and there were TWO Sonic cups to get a hold of . Way too much temptation!!

Well, as you can see, it was an exhausting practice. It wore everybody slap out.

Even the cheerleaders!!!!!!

For the record, we had been really excited about Eli making some new friends who are boys because where we live he is SURROUNDED by girls. There just aren't any little boys his age around here. So when he got home I asked if he made any new friends. He shook his head yes (like a boy who won't give details). Then Sarah (being the girl who wants to dish) told me he made friends with a little girl name Elizabeth. Go figure!!!
